Katye teaches independently across the UK and internationally. Her teaching practice is an extension of her performance practice and research interests. Katye is a certified Skinner Releasing Technique teacher.
Her dynamic dance classes and workshops integrate somatically informed solo scores, partner and trio work based in Contact Improvisation philosophy and technique, and cross floor work where dancers have time and space to embed their practice questions and complex anatomical connections with compositional and material or phrase forming elements.
She regularly leads professional classes, open level workshops and research centered spaces for dancers, students, scholars, artists and movement based practitioners in a variety of contexts.
Katye has over 15 years of experience teaching in further and higher education settings. Now freelance, she brings this experience and her current practice as a performer, writer and activist when invited to work as a teacher or facilitator in university settings. Recent and current invitations include: London Contemporary Dance School; Chelsea College of Art (with Keira Greene); Birmingham School of Acting; Royal College of Art.
Katye is the external examiner for the BA Dance programme and the MA Choreography programme at Leeds Beckett.
