Katye Coe argues in her performed text, She Dancing, towards the spoken agency of the dancer and specifically the dancer’s experience as one where rich information is often held in silence. The words were first commissioned by Matthias Sperling at NottDance 2016 and have since been spoken and performed across Europe. They are part of Burrows and Fargion’s Music For Lectures series and are published in the Politics chapter of A World of Muscle, Bone & Organs: Research and Scholarship in Dance, an e-book exploring contemporary ideas and themes in the research and practice of dance.
